ADULT HIGH SCHOOL Students must earn a total of 22 credits
Adults who did not complete their high school education have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma. Classes are offered in English, Math, Social Studies, and Science on Monday - Thursday evenings. Additional credits may be earned for work experience and through SDE online courses.
EXTERNAL DIPLOMA PROGRAM
This is an alternative route to earning a high school diploma. Students are expected to demonstrate a number of life skills through several tasks. Each candidate must also demonstrate an individual skill in an occupational, academic or specialized area.
Free to students who live or work in Hamden, North Haven, Bethany, Orange, and Woodbridge. All other individuals are welcome and should call for fee schedule.
GED EXAM High School Equivalency Diploma
The GED exam is offered monthly at Hamden High School; it consists of test in the following areas: language arts/writing, language arts/reading, math, science and social studies.
Any Connecticut resident who does not have a high school diploma, is at least 17 years old, and has formally withdrawn from school for six months or their high school class has graduated, is eligible.
